There is hardly a hostess who will refuse to prepare a salad "herring under a fur coat" for the festive table. But its classic version is already a little boring and makes the festive menu somewhat mundane. Therefore, it is proposed to replace the traditional salad with an exclusive recipe for "herring under a fur coat".
It is necessary
- - beets (without it in any way) - about 400 grams;
- - carrots will be slightly less - 300 grams;
- - take even less potatoes - 200 grams;
- - large herring - 1;
- - slightly salted salmon fillet - about 200 grams;
- - 2 eggs;
- - a bunch of onions;
- - mayonnaise - 400 grams;
- - some caviar for decoration.

Step 1
To cook "herring under a fur coat", the first step is to boil the vegetables for the salad. Young housewives have a very reasonable question: how much to cook beets. It all depends on the size of the root crop, but on average about two hours. Cook carrots for about half an hour, potatoes a little less. You don't need to peel the vegetables, wash them well enough. To avoid watery beets and carrots, do not try to trim the tails. Readiness is determined with a knife or fork.
Step 2
When the vegetables are already cooked, boil the hard-boiled eggs. This will take 10 minutes after the water has boiled. Then they are cleaned and, having cut the proteins, the yolks are taken out. Three eggs on a grater: the yolks are fine, the whites are coarse.
Step 3
Cooked vegetables are peeled. To quickly peel potatoes in their uniforms, they immediately immerse them from boiling water in cold water (in which there is a reason to put ice to enhance the effect). Or they can be cleaned hot with a knife, pricked and held with a fork. Otherwise, this process will be long and painful.
Step 4
The herring is peeled, filleted and diced. Salmon is cut into small strips.
Step 5
Vegetables can be grated on a coarse grater, or you can use an egg cutter for this. Root cubes cut in this way will be small and uniform in shape.
Step 6
To prepare an exclusive herring salad, we will lay out the layers in a special form, set on a beautiful dish. The order of the layers is as follows:
1.half of chopped beets, 2.salmon, 3.half of all carrots, 4.all potatoes, 5. chopped herring, 6. proteins, 7.the rest of the carrots, 8. the rest of the beets.
Step 7
All layers are coated with mayonnaise, salted if desired. The top layer is also covered with mayonnaise. Then the mold is removed very carefully.
Step 8
The top of the finished herring under a fur coat salad is decorated with grated yolk, chopped green onions and red caviar.
