Step 1
Look at the price. If a bottle of wine is very cheap, then it is clearly not a real drink. The cost of one bottle depends on the grape variety, production technology, transportation distance and other factors, so a too low price should alert you. Most likely, this wine is made from second-rate raw materials and contains various food additives designed to hide the poor quality of the product.

Buy wine only in trusted stores, specialized alcoholic supermarkets, wine boutiques. In such establishments, they usually take care of their reputation, so it is simply not profitable for them to sell a fake. And the conditions for storage are the most suitable.
Step 3
Give preference to dry wine. Its production technology is so complex that it is difficult and unprofitable to counterfeit it. Sweet and semi-sweet wines, however, often turn out to be cheap counterparts. The high concentration of sugar successfully masks the content of by-ingredients in the wine. And in this case, it can be very difficult to distinguish a real drink from a fake by taste, only if you do not know exactly what set of organoleptic properties a particular type of wine should have.

Buy bottled wine. The use of glass containers increases the final cost of the product, so many unscrupulous manufacturers are more profitable to use cardboard packaging.

Pay attention to the label on the bottle. It must indicate the full name of the wine, aging, sugar content, vintage or table wine, who produced the wine and where. There should also be an inscription "100% natural wine", if it is absent, then in front of you is a wine drink.

Taste the wine. It's good if you know what flavor and color it should be. It will be easier for you to identify a fake. If you do not have such knowledge, then keep in mind that real wine leaves an aftertaste after it, after powdered wine there is none. Usually fake wines are darker than real ones. Good wine has a subtle and pleasant aroma, and side odors will indicate that you are facing either a fake or a spoiled product.

You can check wine for authenticity without opening the bottle. Take the bottle and turn it upside down sharply. There should be sediment at the bottom. If it is not enough and it is dense, then this is a good drink. If the sediment is loose and there is a lot of it, then it is better to refuse to purchase such a wine.
Step 8
Pay attention to the cork when opening the bottle. If it is shriveled, blackened, has a musty smell, then the wine in front of you is real, but it was stored in the wrong conditions. Therefore, most likely, the drink is spoiled, and it is better not to drink it.
Step 9
Add a couple of drops of glycerin to the glass of wine. If it sinks to the bottom and remains colorless, then the wine is real. If there are any foreign impurities in the drink, then the glycerin will acquire a yellow or reddish tint.
