Due to the relative ease of production and popularity among the population, vodka is one of the most frequently falsified drinks. Therefore, in order not to purchase low-quality products, it is necessary to be able to distinguish a real product from a fake.
Instructions
Step 1
Pay attention to how the bottle is sealed. The plug should fit snugly on the neck and not twist. The safety ring on the screw cap must not be damaged. A bottle with a screw cap is usually filled to the middle of the neck.
Step 2
Take a look at the contents of the bottle. To do this, turn it upside down sharply. High-quality vodka should not contain sediment and other foreign particles. In addition, it should not be cloudy or yellowish.
Step 3
The bottle with high-quality vodka must have an easily readable bottling date stamp, which is applied by the manufacturer to the back or outside of the label, to the glass of the bottle or to the shrink cap. Also, compare the bottling date stamped on the label with the bottling date stamped on the cap. If they do not match, please refuse to purchase this product.
Step 4
The label and back label should be bright, even and firmly attached to the bottle. Branded labels are glued at the factory with an automatic machine. Uneven smears of adhesive may indicate hand-applied labels.
Step 5
Pay attention to the information on the label. Currently, vodka is subject to GOST R 51355-99. The digital code on the label must consist of 7-10 digits, the last two of which indicate the city in which the drink was produced. In addition, the bottle must indicate the date of bottling of the vodka, the name and address of the manufacturer, the license number, the mark of the certificate of conformity and the strength of the alcoholic beverage.
Step 6
In addition, you can determine the authenticity of vodka by smell and taste. A high-quality drink should have a subtle vodka aroma and a mild taste (an unpleasant smell or, in another way, fuselage is a sign of the use of low-quality alcohol in the manufacture of vodka).
Step 7
And finally, the guaranteed shelf life of ordinary vodka is 12 months; "Special" vodka - 6 months; vodka intended for the Ministry of Defense - 15 months; and for export - 5 years from the date of bottling.
