Homemade apple juice is a great source of vitamins. It can be drunk fresh, canned, and also used as a base for various desserts and drinks. The tasty and aromatic juice has only one drawback - not too beautiful appearance. However, it can be lightened and made more transparent at home without the use of special equipment and additives that are harmful to health.

It is necessary

  • - juicer, juicer or hand press;
  • - gauze;
  • - dishes for heating and cooling;
  • - skimmer;
  • - rubber tube.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose apples for juice. You can use one litter or mix different ones to get a harmonious sweet and sour taste. Both cultivated and wild apples are used for juice.

Step 2

Select fruits without damage, stains and rot, wash them thoroughly in running water, dry and remove the stalks.

Step 3

Prepare apple juice using an electric juicer, hand press, or juicer. The resulting juice of the first pressing is a particularly valuable raw material with a high content of vitamins and microelements. But the pulp remaining after its manufacture still contains a lot of valuable liquid. Fill it with 10 to 1 water.

Step 4

Let the mixture sit for three to four hours and then run it through the press again. As a result, you will get a weaker drink, which is better not to mix with pure juice, but to preserve it separately.

Step 5

Start clarifying the juice. At home, you cannot create an analogue of a packaged drink. However, it is quite possible to try to make homemade juice more transparent.

Step 6

Let the freshly squeezed juice stand for a while and strain it through several layers of cheesecloth. Squeeze out the residue on the filter. Pour the strained juice into a small saucepan and place in a water bath. Bring water to a boil and heat the juice for 3-4 minutes. Foam forms on the liquid - remove it with a slotted spoon or spoon.

Step 7

Chill the juice quickly by placing the container in a saucepan or tank of cold water for two to three hours. At this time, the drink will stratify - a clear liquid will collect at the top, a cloudy sediment will sink to the bottom. Gently drain the light top juice into a separate bowl using a rubber tube.

Step 8

For more clarification, subject the liquid to a secondary pasteurization. Repeat heating in a water bath. Cool the hot juice at room temperature and strain through a special sackcloth filter or several layers of gauze.
