Step 1

Sort the black currants thoroughly, then rinse thoroughly under running water. If you do not use fresh berries for making cookies, but frozen ones, then defrost them first.

Step 2

Let the butter soften. To do this, remove it from the refrigerator and keep it at room temperature for a while. When the butter has melted, add the icing sugar to it. Beat the resulting mixture until it looks like a cream in its consistency. Add black currants to the creamy mass. Mix everything as it should, that is, so that most of the berry bursts. This is necessary in order for it to color the mixture.

Step 3

To the resulting purple mass, add wheat flour, as well as cornstarch and ground nuts. You can use absolutely any nuts for currant cookies. After mixing everything thoroughly, you will get a dough that needs to be rolled by hands in the shape of a "sausage". The thickness of such a "sausage" should be 3-4 centimeters. Wrap the figure rolled from the dough with cling foil and put in the freezer for 60 minutes.

Step 4

After this period of time has passed, remove the "sausage" from the foil and cut into rings, the thickness of which is 5 millimeters. Place the purple dough pieces on a baking sheet and bake them in the oven at 200 degrees for a quarter of an hour. The currant cookies are ready!
