From this bread product and all kinds of fillings, you can make rolls, tubes, envelopes, pies and even strudels. No shawarma and even shawarma can do without lavash. In a word, without this important component of oriental cuisine, it is difficult to imagine what we would eat today for a snack.
It is necessary
-
- 750 ml flour
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 250-350 ml warm water
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Instructions
Step 1
Sift the flour into a large bowl. Add yeast, sugar, salt. Make a hole in the center of the mixture. Gradually pour all the water into it.
Step 2
You need to knead the dough. Pour flour from the sides of the bowl into the funnel. Knead the dough with your hands. If the flour does not interfere with the dough in any way, add a little water.
Step 3
Remove the dough from the bowl. Sprinkle a little flour on any flat surface. Knead the dough here until it does not stick to your hands.
Step 4
Wet the finished dough slightly with water and vegetable oil. Close it in a plastic bag and leave it on the table for 90 minutes.
Step 5
Remember the "matching" dough again and divide it into the required number of parts. Roll out pieces 2 mm thick. Give them the shape of a circle or square. To prevent the dough from drying out, cover the rolled pieces with a damp cloth.
Step 6
Heat a skillet or an inverted baking sheet as much as possible and without using oil or any other fat. Do not reduce the gas, but if necessary, even increase it. Fry each pita bread on each side for 20-60 seconds (depending on size).
Step 7
Ready-made pita bread can be stored in a closed plastic bag.
