Ready-made puff pastry is a real find for the hostess. With a package of dough in the freezer, you can always prepare mouth-watering pies, homemade pizza, cakes or rolls. The products are baked quickly and look very decorative.
Sausages in dough
Puff pastry can be used to make more than just desserts. Try the hearty option - juicy sausages topped with cheese and wrapped in dough. This dish can be served for dinner or a hearty Sunday breakfast.
You will need:
- packaging of ready-made puff pastry;
- 8 wieners;
- 200 g of cheese;
- 1 egg.
Defrost the dough and roll it into a layer on a floured board and cut into strips. Cut the cheese into thin cubes. Cut each sausage and insert a cheese block into the cut. Wrap the dough strips around the sausages and place them on a greased baking sheet. Grease the products with a beaten egg and place in an oven preheated to 200 ° C. Bake until golden brown and serve warm.
Chocolate bars
This unusual dessert is prepared very quickly and is especially liked by children.
You will need:
- 1 pack of puff pastry;
- 100 g of dark chocolate;
- 200 g of white chocolate;
- 0.25 cups almond petals.
Fry the almond petals in a dry skillet until light beige. Defrost the dough and roll it into a layer, and then cut into small squares.
Place a wedge of dark chocolate on each square, add a few almond petals. Roll the dough into a roll and place on a greased baking sheet. Place the products in an oven preheated to 220 ° C and bake until golden brown.
Melt white chocolate in a steam bath or microwave. Cool the puffs slightly and use a pastry syringe or paper cornet to apply stripes and zigzags to the surface of the bars. Place items on a platter and serve.
Puff rings with nuts and dates
These rings are tender and crispy. They can be coated with icing or lipstick before serving.
You will need:
- packaging of puff pastry;
- 75 g butter;
- 3 teaspoons of cinnamon;
- 75 g brown sugar;
- 150 g pitted dates;
- 100 g of walnuts;
- 1 egg.
Fry the walnuts in a dry frying pan, cool and crush into coarse crumbs. Cut the dates into small pieces and mix with the nuts.
Defrost the dough and roll it into a square layer on a floured board. Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Spread the nut-date mixture on top and roll the dough into a roll.
Cut the resulting roll into slices about 12 mm wide. Roll them out gently with a rolling pin to flatten them. Place the rings on a baking sheet and let them rise - this will take about 20 minutes. Lightly grease the products with a beaten egg and place in the oven preheated to 220 ° C. Bake the rings until golden brown, then remove and place on a platter. Serve warm or cool completely.
