Of course not. Now many shops offer to buy ready-made puff pastry. Sometimes it's frozen, and sometimes it's just chilled. This is ideal for those who are not ready to spend time and energy on their own cooking.

Frozen dough

Store-bought frozen puff pastry is a very convenient product. It is easy to store by purchasing several packages at once, and there are no problems at all in defrosting. The package must be removed from the freezer and left at room temperature for an hour without opening the package.

After about an hour, the dough will thaw a little - it's time to unpack it, lay the sheets apart on a dry surface, lightly sprinkled with flour, and, covered with baking paper or a clean dry napkin, let it come to room temperature. If the dough is rolled into a roll, then it must be opened in the same way and laid out on a flat surface.

Chilled dough

If the purchased dough has not been frozen, it is enough just to lay it out on a table sprinkled with flour, cover with a clean dry napkin, wait 10-15 minutes and start cooking.

Preparation

The puff pastry must be rolled out to obtain a delicate and crunchy product. It is very important that you only need to roll out the dough in one direction so as not to damage its flaky structure. From the obtained layer, cut out layers of the required shape and, adding the filling, form the final product. To make the dough beautifully brown, you can grease it with egg yolk on top with the addition of melted butter.

If yeast puff pastry is purchased, then the formed pies, rolls or envelopes should rise slightly at room temperature before baking. To do this, cover them with a clean towel and leave for 20-25 minutes. It is necessary to bake puff pastry in the oven at a temperature of 220-230 ° C. Baking time 10-15 minutes, no more.

Important! Puff pastry should not be placed in a cold or not fully heated oven - the baked goods will turn out to be pressed and moist.

Envelopes with apples and cinnamon

Ingredients:

- apples - 1 kg

- puff pastry - 1 kg

- sugar - 150 gr

- cinnamon - to taste

Preparation:

Wash the apples, cut into small pieces, cover with sugar and let stand for 30 minutes. Drain the resulting liquid. Cut the dough into equilateral triangles (with a side approximately equal to 10 cm). Put 1-2 teaspoons of apples on the dough, sprinkle with sugar and roll into a roll. Put the resulting products on a floured or oiled baking sheet and place in a well-heated oven for 15 minutes. Then remove the ovens from the oven, transfer to a basket and cover with a clean napkin or towel.

Important: the filling should not appear from the edges of the envelope, otherwise, flowing out onto a hot baking sheet, it will begin to burn.
