Consider 3 ways to plant a frillis step by step.

In open ground

It is preferable to plant this crop in early spring, with seeds in prepared grooves at a short distance from each other and in a sunny area.

  1. Place the seeds in the ground, sprinkle with a sand mixture on top and press down slightly.
  2. Water liberally and cover with foil (for protection on a cold night).
  3. Thin germinated seedlings in case of their density, since the size of the bundle reaches 20 - 25 cm in diameter, remove the film.
  4. Water daily in the evening and periodically loosen the soil slightly between the rows.
  5. Top dressing is carried out every 1 - 2 weeks with special fertilizers or garden preparations.

During the growth period, the lettuce forms a head, which simplifies the process of its collection. It is better to cut the leaves not at the root, but leaving 5 - 7 cm, which will allow re-harvesting.

  1. Buy or prepare soil. The best option is humus, peat, sand in a ratio of 2: 2: 1.
  2. Place a layer of expanded clay on the bottom, pour prepared soil and compact.
  3. Pour with a solution of potassium permanganate (1 crystal per 0.5 liters of boiled water at room temperature), make grooves 2 cm deep with an interval of 10 cm between them.
  4. Place seeds in 7-10 cm increments into prepared holes and sprinkle with earth.
  5. Sprinkle with water from a watering can and remove to a dark place until the first shoots. Then put it on the windowsill and water it regularly.
  6. Following the usual rules for watering and spraying, the first crop can be harvested after a month.

When grown at home, it is required to control air temperature, humidity and light. Do not expose to direct sunlight, slightly shade glass and place humidifiers near the pot.
