Tart Taten is a classic French dessert. The delicacy is a shape-shifting tart on a small base with caramelized apple slices. The classic Taten tart is made with apples, but now it is also made with strawberries, pears, bananas. Let's not deviate far from the traditional recipe - we will prepare Taten tart with apples and delicate cream.
It is necessary
- For eight servings:
- - 1.5 kg of apples;
- - 220 g of wheat flour;
- - 220 g of butter;
- - 200 ml of cream;
- - 180 g of cane sugar;
- - 1 egg yolk;
- - 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar;
- - 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract;
- - a pinch of salt.
Instructions
Step 1
Melt 70 g butter and sugar in a skillet. Place the peeled apples, cut into quarters, into it. Cook over low heat for 40 minutes, until the apples are softer and begin to caramelize.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.
Step 3
For the dough, sift the flour and salt into a bowl, add the rest of the butter, mix with your hands into crumbs. Add the yolk, pour in some cold water, knead the dough.
Step 4
Blind a ball from the dough, wrap it in foil, put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Step 5
Roll out the dough a little larger than the frying pan or mold (put the caramelized apples into the mold), in which you will cook the tart. Place the dough on top of the apples, press down on the edges. Cut off the excess dough, put in the oven for 25 minutes, the dough should be browned.
Step 6
Remove the tart from the oven, let it sit for 5 minutes, then turn it onto a serving platter.
Step 7
Combine cream, icing sugar and vanilla extract. Whisk the cream into a strong foam and serve with the tart.
