You don't need to use the oven to make dessert. I suggest you make very interesting and delicious Algerian cookies in a frying pan called "Braj".
It is necessary
- - melted butter - 1 glass;
- - semolina - 3 glasses;
- - water - 50 ml;
- - salt - a pinch.
- For filling:
- - butter - 30-50 g;
- - rose water - 20-30 ml;
- - ground cinnamon - a pinch;
- - dates - 300 g;
- - salt - a pinch.
Instructions
Step 1
After melting the butter in a water bath, combine it with the following ingredients: semolina and a pinch of salt. Knead the resulting mixture with your hands, gradually adding water to it. Thus, you will get a mass with a homogeneous consistency - a dough for future cookies.
Step 2
Cut the kneaded dough into 2 parts - they should be equal to each other. Set them aside for about a quarter of an hour.
Step 3
While the dough is “resting,” so to speak, prepare the Braj filling. To do this, remove the seeds from the dried fruit. Then steam the dates for 15 minutes. After the time has passed, place them in an empty bowl and add ingredients such as melted butter, ground cinnamon, and salt and rose water to them. Place this mass in a blender bowl and grind thoroughly until smooth.
Step 4
Roll the two pieces of dough into layers of the same size. On one of these layers, spread the filling of dates in an even layer. Top the mixture with the remaining dough. Carefully level the resulting "construction" with a rolling pin and cut so that you get equal pieces.
Step 5
Fry the dough pieces on each side, always in a dry frying pan, until golden brown. Braj is ready!
