Recent polls by Russian sociologists show that consumers prefer domestic food products to imported ones. The trend towards choosing Russian products is gaining momentum every year, buyers are paying more and more attention to the country of the manufacturer, and already 84% of respondents have voted for domestically produced products, and only 2% preferred imported goods at similar prices.
And what makes "own" products better
There are several main reasons for the popularity of domestically produced products among consumers. But the most important thing is that they are "cleaner"; when growing fruits and vegetables in Russia, much less dangerous preservatives and fertilizers are used that retain their appearance, but have a detrimental effect on human health. Naturally, this does not apply to all categories of products, but if we talk about quality as a percentage, then the share of domestic vegetables and fruits will have a large share of useful fruits.
Fruits and vegetables grown in Russia ripen under the sun for a long time, absorbing many useful substances, unlike imported counterparts grown quickly.
Do not forget that vegetables and fruits are the main components of baby food. The less preservatives and harmful substances in baby food are, the less likely the child will acquire potential chronic diseases. Oddly enough, the price can also tell about the quality of the Russian product.
It is much cheaper to eat local products due to the absence of harmful chemicals used to fertilize the soil, which increase the cost, and, moreover, Russian goods are exempt from import duties, which means that they save money for consumers. In addition, due to direct deliveries (that is, bypassing customs), products are delivered to counters faster, which means they are always fresher.
Why then an imported product
As mentioned above, it all depends on the product category. Unfortunately, with regard to products of animal origin, the situation is the opposite, in Russia there is no unified system of veterinary assessment and control. Therefore, it is often impossible to track what kind of feed was given to the animals, what were the conditions of keeping the livestock.
The lack of a unified system makes proper control impossible.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the share of domestic products among products of animal origin containing hazardous substances is 9.2% versus 3.7% of imported products. Currently, the legislation is being improved, and perhaps there will be positive shifts in this direction.
Summing up, it should be noted that you should still rely on common sense, pay attention not only to the manufacturer, but also to the appearance of the product, the composition on the label. Compliance with these simple rules will help not only to use a good product and prepare delicious meals, but also to maintain health.
