Currently, the stores offer a huge selection of dairy products. But with all this diversity, there is a high probability of purchasing a low-quality product. Indeed, recently there have been cases of milk falsification, the use by manufacturers of all kinds of additives, fillers, flavorings. And real dairy products, according to the standards, must contain only components of dairy origin. So how to choose the “right” dairy product and not be mistaken in the offered assortment.

Instructions

Step 1

First, make it a rule to only buy dairy products in stores. Here, the risk of buying low-quality products is several times less than in other places. As for homemade dairy products, which are usually sold in markets and bazaars, they, of course, are more useful and valuable for health, but only if they are made from the milk of a healthy animal and in compliance with sanitary and hygienic conditions.

Step 2

When choosing dairy products, pay special attention to shelf life. So, for fermented milk products without heat treatment, the shelf life is about a week, and for dairy products that do not include stabilizers, even less - 4-5 days.

Step 3

You should also carefully study the composition of the products indicated on the packaging, since the quality primarily depends on the raw materials and ingredients. For example, butter should not consist of vegetable fats, otherwise, it will no longer be butter, but a spread.

Step 4

Without fear of health, you can buy pasteurized and sterilized milk, but again, subject to the expiration dates.

Step 5

If you do buy milk in bazaars, then take it only in glass jars. The naturalness of milk can be recognized by the layer of cream, which should be about 2-3 fingers thick. A thin film layer indicates that the milk has been diluted or passed through the separator. Milk can also be tested for the presence of various impurities. For this we need a litmus test. Dip blue paper in milk - if it turns red, it means there are chemical impurities in the milk. And a red litmus test, which turns blue in such an experiment, indicates the presence of soda in milk.

Step 6

Some unscrupulous sellers add starch to sour cream as a thickener. To determine its presence at home, it is enough to drop iodine into the sour cream. If the sour cream turns blue, then starch is definitely present there.

Step 7

You can determine at home and the degree of freshness of the curd. Fresh cottage cheese should be uniform in composition and color. If it has a yellowish tint, then this is a stale product, and a pinkish color indicates a violent growth of microorganisms. You cannot acquire both!

Step 8

The choice of the favorite delicacy of both children and adults - ice cream - deserves a separate discussion. Buying it should be treated with extreme caution. If the ice cream briquette is deformed, then it has already been defrosted. This, of course, will not add flavor to our product. If the ice cream melts before you even start eating it, then it contains too much water or sugar. Long-term storage of the product is indicated by the uneven color of the ice cream, and the excess of water can be judged by the ice crystals on the product.

Step 9

In order not to harm your health, be more demanding and attentive to your choice and buy proven products.
