Beer alcoholism is a disease of modern adolescents, men and women. Its development is veiled and is rather slow compared to classic alcoholism. However, according to the international classification of diseases, beer alcoholism does not stand out as an independent type of addiction.

Doctors deny the term "beer alcoholism". They are sure that this is a cliché spread by the media. In fact, beer alcoholism is the same addiction, destructive and dangerous, arising from the use of any alcoholic beverage.

Beer addiction develops slowly. So, it is enough to regularly consume 0.5-1 liters per day, the mental state does not change in any way, but soon this habit of relaxation becomes a real alcoholism.

Doctors have long referred beer to alcoholic beverages, therefore, realizing its danger, they carry out prevention of beer alcoholism in schools and universities. In lawmaking, beer is now also equated to alcoholic beverages. Light alcoholic drinks such as cocktails and champagne are also dangerous. All these drinks, thanks to the gases they contain, are very quickly absorbed into the bloodstream and lead to intoxication.

At the same time, there is a widespread opinion. Some experts believe that the more people drink beer, the less they will drink strong alcoholic beverages, and this will supposedly lead to a decrease in alcoholism in the country as a whole. Others believe that traditionally Russians have drunk and will continue to drink vodka, but this time together with beer, and thus dependence on alcohol will form earlier.

The main signs of the onset of beer alcoholism:

- daily consumption of low alcohol drinks, such as beer, in the amount of more than 1 liter;

- irritability and aggression during the period of sobriety and with a hangover;

- the appearance of a beer belly;

- frequent headaches;

- problems with libido and sexual passivity;

- sleepiness during the day and insomnia at night;

- desire to drink in the morning.
