- Filling:
- - 6-8 small apples
- - 50 g raisins
- - 50 g finely chopped walnuts
- 1/3 cup brown sugar

Step 1
Combine flour, granulated sugar, salt and lemon zest. Mix well. Add butter and then stir in flour until crumbs form. Add the egg at the end and knead well. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

To prepare the filling, combine the raisins and walnuts. Add brown sugar and cinnamon. Wash, dry and peel the apples. Spread lemon juice over them to keep them from darkening.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut circles out of the dough and cut out heart, flower, or leaf decorations from leftovers.

Cut the cores out of the apples and fill them with the filling, wrap with dough. Arrange the apples on the circles of the dough. Sprinkle with water, then attach the cut out decorations on top, securing the ends of the dough.

Place the stuffed apples on a greased baking sheet (or covered with parchment paper). Spread with a mixture of yolk and milk and bake in a hot oven for 30 minutes at 200 ° C. Roasting time will depend on apple variety, degree of ripeness (overripe baked faster) and size.
