Very tasty old Russian recipe for baking fish. It is best to take a young pike, no more than two kilograms. This fish can be rolled up and baked whole, or cut into portions and baked separately.

  • - 50 ml of vegetable oil;
  • - 5 g of paprika;
  • - 5 g of black peppercorns;
  • - 2 g of black ground pepper;
  • - salt to taste.

Step 1

Take a fresh pike no more than two kilograms in weight. Rinse the fish well in warm water, clean the scales with a sharp knife. Make an incision in the lower abdomen and gut, wash well again. Make oblique cuts on the sides of the ridge, where the large bones are, so they will become quite soft during the baking process. Make several large cuts across the fish to help curl it up. Rub the fish with salt and black pepper. Spiral the fish and place in a large skillet or baking dish.

Wash the potatoes well, peel them and cut them into large pieces, add a little salt and place them in a dish with the fish. Transfer the butter to a microwave-safe bowl and melt at maximum temperature. Brush fish and potatoes with hot oil. Preheat the oven and place the fish and potato dish in there for twenty minutes.

Step 3

Rinse the onion in cold water, peel and chop finely. In a skillet, fry the onions in vegetable oil. Add salt, pepper, paprika and cream to the pan and stir. Take out the mold and fill with the resulting mixture, bake for another forty minutes.
