Coffee is classified into three main varieties - Arabica, Robusta and Liberica. Arabica is considered the highest quality variety; it has a mild taste. Robusta, which is more bitter and stronger, is added to coffee blends, but sometimes it is drunk in its pure form. Liberica is the most bitter type of coffee and is used only as an additive to other varieties.

An important role is played by the area in which coffee is grown, so, in a hotter area, coffee has a mild taste and pleasant aroma. Grains grown in highlands will give a sour taste.

The taste of the drink also depends on the proportions of different types of coffee. Arabica, although it has a pleasant smell and mild taste, contains a small amount of caffeine, and therefore is not suitable for invigorating. Robusta and Liberica are too bitter, but they have a rich aroma.

The degree of coffee roast is one of the key indicators to look out for. The roast is weak - Scandinavian, more intense - American, French - the coffee is roasted even harder and the strongest degree of roast is Italian.

Roasted coffee loses its flavor and aroma very quickly. It is not recommended to store it longer than 3 weeks, check the roasting date.

It is better to grind coffee just before preparation, however, you can also buy ground coffee and the fresher it is, the better. The grind is also divided according to the degree: from coarse - used for a French press and a coffee maker, to fine, it is used for making espresso.

Do not buy a pack of coffee for home use, the volume of which exceeds 200-250 grams, you will not have time to drink it before it loses its taste and aroma qualities. After you open the package, pour the coffee into a glass or tin container, do not store it in a regular package.
