The unique properties of pu-erh are provided by the fermentation process - the aging of tea under the influence of special microbes, akin to making kvass, yogurt or wine. It ripens for tens of years. When stored properly, it only gets better over time. Puerh is considered a healthy tea, although it has its own drawbacks.
Elite varieties of pu-erh tea are made from tea tree leaves, not shrubs, but it is extremely difficult to purchase such tea in a store. Depending on the intricacies of the production technology, pu-erh tea is raw (or green, coarse tea) and mature. The first is prepared by pressing the tea leaf after drying, and the second by soaking sun-dried and toasted green tea leaves in infusions with bacteria. After that, the mass is kept for several years in special pits and pressed into cakes of various shapes.
How to choose pu-erh
When choosing pu-erh in a store, be sure to pay attention to the smell: there should be no notes of mold in it, only black soil and dried fruits; on the structure of a bar or tablet: no voids, dense. It is best to taste the tea before buying, evaluating the safety and integrity of the leaves, the saturation and color of the infusion, and the taste.
It is better to take a closer look at tea without aromatic additives of lotus, jasmine, which are often used by unscrupulous manufacturers to disguise low-quality raw materials as more expensive ones.

The Chinese have 22 properties of pu-erh that are useful for the human body, the main ones are:

It is worth talking about the dangers of tea in the case when the dosage of the infusion is deliberately exceeded to achieve the effect of tea intoxication. This is fraught with not only allergic skin rashes, but also general weakness, dizziness.
Pu-erh should be drunk with caution by pregnant women, young children under 3 years old, and people with urolithiasis. Pu-erh should not be drunk on an empty stomach, as it activates the production of gastric juice, which can cause stomach pain and heartburn.
However, the harm and benefits of drinking pu-erh are so incomparable that there is no need to talk about a really negative effect of the drink on the body.
