Cabbage rolls are an incredibly tasty and satisfying dish that can be served either with a side dish or as a separate dish.

Cooking them is not an easy task, it takes quite a lot of time.

It is necessary

  • For the preparation of stuffed cabbage:
  • - one big swing of cabbage;
  • - 500-600 g of meat;
  • - one onion:
  • - a glass of rice;
  • - one carrot;
  • - two eggs;
  • - 70 ml of vegetable oil;
  • - 30 g butter;
  • - salt and pepper (to taste).
  • To make the sauce:
  • - two tablespoons of tomato paste;
  • - 1/2 cup sour cream;
  • - glass of water;
  • - 1/2 teaspoon of salt;
  • - according to Art. a spoonful of dill and parsley;
  • - three bay leaves;
  • - five to seven peas of black pepper.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the rice thoroughly in cold water several times, then boil it until half cooked.

Step 2

Peel the onion and chop finely.

Step 3

Rinse the carrots, peel and coarsely grate (or finely chop).

Step 4

Pour vegetable oil into a thick-bottomed frying pan, heat it over high heat, then put onions in it. Fry it transparency, then add carrots to it. Salt, simmer over medium heat until vegetables are fully cooked.

Step 5

Rinse the meat thoroughly in cold water, remove all bones, films and veins (if any). Pass the meat through a meat grinder (it is better to use a medium wire rack).

Step 6

In a deep bowl, combine meat, fried vegetables, eggs, salt and pepper. Minced meat for stuffed cabbage is ready, now you need to prepare cabbage leaves.

Step 7

Remove two or three upper leaves from the head of cabbage, carefully cut the stump with a knife.

Step 8

Take a saucepan, into which the head of cabbage can easily fit, pour water into it and bring to a boil. Gently lower the head of cabbage into boiling water and hold it for three to four minutes.

Step 9

After the expiration of time, drain the water and remove the head of cabbage. As soon as possible, while the cabbage is still warm, separate the leaves from each other and allow them to cool at room temperature. Cut the tough part from the leaves.

Step 10

Take one sheet, put the required amount of filling on it and wrap it in the form of an envelope. Make all the other stuffed cabbage in the same way.

Step 11

Place the resulting cabbage rolls in a saucepan with a thick bottom, add butter and sauce.

The sauce is prepared as follows: tomato paste, sour cream, dill, parsley, water, bay leaves, pepper and salt are mixed in a bowl.

Step 12

Simmer over medium heat for 50-60 minutes.
