Fruits and vegetables contain fiber, which gives us a feeling of satiety and relieves us of hunger, as well as a huge amount of vitamins that our body needs so much! Before using them, clean the fruits of dust, dirt, microorganisms, as well as pesticides harmful to our body, with which they are processed to protect plants from diseases and harmful insects.
Follow the basic rules for washing fruits and vegetables:
- Imported fruits and vegetables are mainly coated with wax or paraffin to protect against harmful insects, better preservation of the product and, of course, to give a glossy, beautiful wrapper for customers. To get rid of this layer, you need to use a brush and soapy water. Or a safer option, you can remove the waxed top layer with a knife. - Wash dense, hard fruits and vegetables with a brush under running water.
- In white cabbage, remove the upper layers of leaves, getting to fresh and clean ones. Most of the nitrates accumulates in the stump, so we immediately cut it off and throw it away.
