Vegetable cabbage rolls are a very tasty and healthy dish, which will not be difficult to prepare. You can experiment with their filling, for example, adding a little boiled rice, greens or a ripe tomato. These cabbage rolls are recommended to be served with tomato sauce or sour cream.
Ingredients:
- 1 large head of white cabbage;
- 2 carrots;
- celery and parsley - 1 bunch each;
- 5 tablespoons of tomato paste;
- 2 bell peppers;
- 3 garlic cloves;
- lavrushka - 3 leaves;
- 2-3 tablespoons of sunflower oil (odorless is better);
- ground black pepper and salt.
Preparation:
- The first step is to prepare the cabbage leaves. To do this, you need to take a fairly large saucepan in which the head of cabbage could fit freely and put it on the fire, having previously filled it with water (about half).
- While the water is boiling, prepare the cabbage. Remove withered and spoiled leaves and rinse the head thoroughly under running water. Then you need to cut the stump with a sharp knife.
- After the water boils, you should dip the cabbage into it. The vegetable should stay there for 3 to 5 minutes. After that, the head of cabbage must be removed and disassembled into leaves.
- Then the filling should be done. To do this, wash and peel the carrots. It is chopped with a Korean carrot grater, you can simply cut the vegetables into strips with a sharp knife.
- Bell peppers are also washed well. The testis and peduncle are removed from him. The vegetable should then be cut into very small pieces.
- The garlic cloves are peeled, washed and minced. To do this, you can use a garlic press, or chop the garlic very finely with a sharp knife. Greens also need to be washed and chopped.
- Put the frying pan on a preheated stove, after pouring a little sunflower oil into it. After it has warmed up, the vegetables prepared for the filling are poured into the pan and stewed over low heat until fully cooked. Also, pour a little water into the vegetables, add lavrushka and salt.
- The finished and cooled filling must be wrapped in cabbage leaves, shaping cabbage rolls. Then they are put in a sufficiently deep saucepan, on the bottom of which you need to pour a little vegetable oil. Then water is poured there, so that it only slightly covers the cabbage rolls, and tomato paste and spices are added. Cabbage rolls should cook over low heat for about 40-50 minutes.
