  • 1 medium head of onion;
  • 2 tbsp. l. kefir;
  • 1 egg;
  • Salt and spices to taste;
  • Sunflower oil for frying.

Step by step potato pancakes are prepared as follows:

  1. Remove the husk from the onion and grate the peeled vegetable on a fine grater.
  2. Combine the onion gruel with kefir, mix thoroughly. It is worth noting that onions and fermented milk products are added to potato pancakes not only for taste, but also to preserve the color of the potatoes. Thanks to the sounded ingredients, the grated root vegetable does not darken and the dish turns out to have a beautiful golden hue.
  3. Wash the potatoes, peel, chop on a coarse shredder. Squeeze the resulting mass to remove excess liquid. If you don't remove excess water, potato pancakes will scatter.

  1. Wash vegetables, carrots and potatoes, remove the peel, chop on a coarse grater. Squeeze out any excess liquid from the potatoes before mixing the prepared vegetables.
  2. Peel the onion, chop it with a blender or meat grinder, you can grate it on a fine grater.
  3. Combine the onion mass with potatoes and carrots, add flour to the vegetable mixture, beat in eggs, add your favorite spices and salt, mix everything thoroughly. Make sure that the flour does not form lumps.
  4. Armed with a spoon, place the vegetable dough in a preheated skillet flavored with vegetable oil. Fry the pancakes on both sides until golden brown. The cooking time of the dish will directly depend on the thickness of your potato pancakes.
