    • tomato juice 100 ml
    • vegetable oil 50g.

Step 1

To prepare canned fish at home, you need to prepare a pressure cooker, a heavy-bottomed saucepan, and glass jars that must be sterilized first. Only perfectly clean dishes are suitable for canned food, you must follow the recipe and carefully monitor the cooking time.

Step 2

Rinse the fish thoroughly with cold water, remove the head, scales and fins, cut off the gills and remove the insides. Rinse again and set aside. Prepare onions and carrots. Cut the onion into thick slices, and grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Fry vegetables in vegetable oil until tender. Dissolve the tomato paste in two glasses of water, add sea salt, black peppercorns and 2 tablespoons of 9% vinegar. It is good to add 100 ml of processed tomatoes or tomato juice to this mixture. The tomatoes are scalded with boiling water, carefully peeled off and cut into small pieces, you can rub the pulp through a sieve, in which case the tomato seeds will not be felt in the original product.

Put in layers in a pan, first pour sunflower oil, put a layer of fish, put a layer of carrots with onions on top, again a layer of fish, again a layer of carrots with onions, and so on until it is ¾ full. Then, pour the mixture of tomato paste, vinegar, spices and, without interfering, close the lid. It is advisable to lay the fish in neat rows so that it does not lose its shape and the finished product looks beautiful.

If you cook in the oven, then the cooking time of canned food will be 5-6 hours over low heat, in a pressure cooker the duration will be reduced by 2 hours.

After the time is up, the readiness of the canned food is checked with a knife, the small bones should completely dissolve. Take out the pan and arrange the resulting products in jars. Roll up lids and store in a cool place. Such canned food can be stored for up to 6 months.
