It is necessary

  • For 1 serving:
  • - 0, 25 st. butter;
  • - 0, 5 tbsp. brown sugar;
  • - 1 tbsp. bourbon;
  • - 2 medium apples;
  • - 3 slices of white bread;
  • - 2 eggs;
  • - 0, 5 tbsp. milk;
  • - 0.5 tbsp. vanilla extract;
  • - 0.75 tsp cinnamon;
  • - a pinch of nutmeg;
  • - a pinch of salt.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut white bread (a slightly dried loaf, challah is ideal) into thick slices.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar. Stir vigorously with a whisk during the process so that the mass is homogeneous. Cook until the mass begins to thicken. Then pour in the bourbon and beat again. Keep on medium heat for another minute and pour the resulting caramel into a baking dish.

Step 3

Peel and core the apples. Cut into thin slices. Place the slices on top of the caramel. Cover them with thickly sliced bread.

Step 4

Using a mixer, beat 2 eggs, milk, vanilla and spices until smooth. Pour the loaf slices with the mixture, cover the mold with a lid and put in the cold overnight. In the morning, preheat the oven to 175 degrees and send the form there (of course, removing the lid) for about 50 minutes: the bread should acquire a golden crust. A delicious breakfast is ready!
