In its homeland, India, mango has the status of "king of fruits". Now mangoes are grown in many other places, and everywhere - of different varieties. On the fruit shelves of Russian stores there are red-yellow mangoes brought from India and Thailand, but most often from mango greenhouses in Holland.
Instructions
Step 1
A good mango should be 10 to 20 cm in size and weigh up to 200 to 320 g.
Step 2
Smell the fruit at its tail: it should smell fragrant and, with a slight pressure, be elastic. In general, mangoes should not be very hard or very soft.
Step 3
You should not choose mango by color: different varieties of this fruit in ripe form can be both bright green and rich red. But any good mango should have a smooth, shiny skin. If the peel is wrinkled, and the fruit is very soft to the touch, then the mango was plucked from the tree unripe.
Step 4
If you bought an unripe mango, let it sit at room temperature for a few days. Ripe fruits are best stored in the refrigerator and eaten within the next few days after purchase.
