Make a shitty snack for the winter with your own hands. It can be twisted into jars, and then, with the onset of winter, taken out as needed.
What is required for cooking?
Before you start preparing a horseradish snack, prepare the following ingredients in advance:
- garlic - 3 heads;
- red fresh tomatoes - 3 kg;
- salt - added to taste.
- horseradish root - 8 pcs.
Take green tomatoes if you can't buy red ones or you missed a moment of their season. In this case, you need to use them a little more. You will need 4 kg of green tomatoes.
How to cook a shitty snack?
Place the horseradish roots in a cup filled with warm water. Leave them on for 10-20 minutes, and then wash them thoroughly and peel them well with a knife. Then cut the roots into small pieces and twist in a meat grinder. It is advisable to do this several times in order to grind them as efficiently as possible. This is especially important to repeat if a mechanical meat grinder is used.
Wash the tomatoes, remove the stalks, and cut the vegetables into wedges. Take the garlic and peel it off. The slices need to be peeled and transferred to a bowl. Pass the chopped tomatoes through a meat grinder. This can be done in a container where horseradish was placed. Then twist the garlic in a meat grinder and add it to the rest of the ingredients.
Salt the shitty snack. Add the seasoning little by little to avoid spoiling the taste. Stir as best you can. Then leave it overnight so that it has time to infuse and acquire a rich taste. It is advisable to cover it with a lid or plastic.
Prepare glass jars with a capacity of 0.5-1 liters. Rinse the containers thoroughly and steam them for 6-8 minutes. Boil the lids for them in a small saucepan for 5-10 minutes. Then you can start rolling the snack. You do not need to heat it up, stir it thoroughly enough, and then taste it again to make sure that there is enough salt.
Start filling the shitty snack. Fill prepared jars up to the neck. Then roll them up and put them in a dark place for several days, while putting the cans upside down. After a few days, put them in your cellar or pantry. In winter, you can enjoy the excellent taste of a horseradish snack that will delight you with its aroma.
