2017 is the year of the Red Rooster. This bird looks simple and beautiful, but very cocky. It is very difficult to please her, but you can if you try hard. To do this, you should choose beautiful clothes, come up with funny pranks for friends, and also make a menu of New Year's dishes - delicious, hearty and bright.
What should be the menu?
When compiling a menu, it is important to remember three rules:
- You cannot cook anything from chicken meat! You should also abandon mayonnaise (can be replaced with sour cream), canned food, jams, pickles, dishes from other poultry. Otherwise, you can anger the Rooster.
- When preparing meals, it is worth using more vegetables, herbs and fruits, cereals and legumes.
- Recipes should be light and do not require exotic foods. As they say, simple, but tasteful.
It will also be nice if you use a variety of herbs and spices. Rooster loves them very much.
What to cook for the New 2017 year?
Traditional "Herring under a fur coat", classic "Olivier" and "Mimosa" - these salads can be put on the New Year's table. Just like any sandwiches, jellied fish or jellied meat. But if you want something unusual, we suggest paying attention to the following menu option.
Hot dish: Rabbit with apples and bacon
Cut rabbit meat into 3 cm thick slices, beat off, coat with butter. Fry on both sides until golden brown. Mix with pieces of bacon and two chopped apples, finely chopped onions. Simmer until tender.
Second course: Salmon under a crust of nuts and bread
Cut the salmon into pieces, season with salt, pepper, sprinkle with lemon. Sprinkle with a mixture of chopped walnuts and bread crumbs. Moisten with butter and put in the oven for 20 minutes. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius.
Garnish: Potatoes baked with sour cream in foil
Dry well washed potatoes, wrap in 2-3 layers of foil greased with butter. Send to oven for 40-50 minutes. Once it's ready (you can check it with a spoon), make a cruciform cut on each potato without removing the foil. Fill it with sauce made from one glass of sour cream, 4-5 chopped garlic cloves, chopped parsley and dill, salt and black pepper (to taste). Allow the potatoes to cook for another 5 minutes.. Then take out and arrange on plates.
Salad number 1. From crab sticks in orange baskets
Put a pre-salted mixture of crab sticks, boiled potatoes, fruit pulp and canned corn in the orange halves peeled from the pulp. Put the salad in the center of the 2017 New Year's table.
Salad No. 2. "Christmas tree"
Boil a glass of rice and half a beet separately. A small piece of boiled beef, 2 pickled cucumbers, 70 grams of mozzarella cheese, green onions and parsley cut into small pieces. Put prepared foods on a plate in layers in the form of a Christmas tree in the following sequence: rice - meat - rice - grated beets - pickled cucumbers - cheese and green onions. In this case, each layer must be coated with sour cream. At the end, garnish the salad with pomegranate seeds and sea buckthorn berries (if desired), serve.
Salad number 3. Salad with cabbage and prunes
Soak 100 grams of prunes for 30 minutes, then cut into strips. Cut 400 grams of white cabbage, one carrot and an apple into longitudinal strips. Mix everything together. Add lemon juice. Let stand for 30 minutes. Before serving, the salad can be garnished with prunes and apple slices.
Ham rolls with mushrooms appetizer
Chop the pickled mushrooms, mix with chopped green onions, parsley and sour cream. Place on very thin slices of ham. Roll each "cake" into a roll and place on a plate "seam down". To be sure, they can be secured with a toothpick or skewer.
Appetizer "Tartlets with fresh mushrooms"
Rinse 300 grams of fresh champignons well, peel, boil until tender, fry with onions and mince. Add chopped greens, grated cheese carrots and 300 grams of boiled chicken liver to them. Stuff the tartlets. Decorate them with green peas.
And for dessert - honey biscuit
Beat 6 eggs with 3 tbsp. tablespoons of sugar and the same amount of honey to such an extent that the total mass increases by 4 times. Gently add 200 grams of flour and stir from bottom to top. Cover the form with baking paper, pour the prepared dough into it and send to the oven for baking. When the biscuit is ready, it will need to be cooled right in the mold. Then take out and cut into pieces. Top can be greased with any delicious cream. In this case, you get something like a cake.
