How to cook pork tongue correctly

In order for the tongue to turn out fragrant and delicate in taste, it is necessary to boil it properly. Pre-soak the pork tongue in cold water for two to three hours. Thanks to this, this product will not only be softer, but also the skin will be easier to peel.

Place a pot of water on a fire. Bring the water to a boil, add the necessary seasonings and spices. Now you can put your tongue in the water. Pork tongue should be boiled for two to three hours. When cooking, make sure that the broth does not boil too much.

It is recommended not to add salt when boiling the tongue. It is better to salt the product after peeling off the skin or in the dish for which the tongue was boiled.

Baked Pork Tongue Recipe

For cooking you will need:

- pork tongue - 600 g;

- canned white beans - 400-500 g;

- butter - 60 g;

- a mixture of Italian spices;

- thyme - 2 g;

- salt, pepper - to taste;

- bay leaf - 2-3 pieces.

Boil the pork tongue in boiling water for five minutes, drain the water. Transfer your tongue to another pot of clean, boiling water. Add bay leaves, a few peppercorns, and salt to the broth. Leave to cook for 1, 5-2 hours.

When the tongue is cooked, transfer it to a bowl of cold water and peel it. Cut it into slices no more than half a centimeter thick.

Grease a baking dish with butter. Spread the chopped pork tongue on a dish, salt, season, add thyme. Bake the dish in the oven for 15-20 minutes at medium heat.

Prepare a side dish before serving. To do this, heat the canned beans and pour over the sauce you made when baking your tongue. You can decorate the dish with herbs before serving.

Tongue and pineapple salad recipe

You will need:

- boiled pork tongue - 300-350 g;

- canned pineapple - 3-5 circles;

- hard cheese - 200 g;

- garlic - 1 clove;

- sweet pepper - 1 pc.;

- mayonnaise;

- pomegranate seeds;

- salt, pepper - to taste.

Cut the boiled tongue into thin strips. Also cut pepper, pineapple circles, cheese into strips. Crush the garlic or pass it through a press.

Combine the prepared ingredients in a bowl, add seasonings, pomegranate seeds. Mix gently. Pour in the right amount of mayonnaise. Stir again. Before serving, spread the salad into small salad bowls and garnish with bell peppers and herbs.
