There are several different ways to slice melons. The typical and standard way is to cut into slices. However, we will consider a different method, the best from the point of view of practicality and storage in the refrigerator, as well as the possibility of a quick snack, which is important, because the standard method of slicing is sometimes a whole ritual and takes a lot of time.
It is necessary
- Melon;
- Cutting board;
- Slicing knife;
- A container or a beautiful dish that will decorate your table.
Instructions
Step 1
We wash the melon well and, using a cutting board and a knife, cut off the ends of the melon on both sides, as shown in the photo.
It is preferable that the knife is sharp. In this case, there will not be much juice on your cutting board, but it will remain in the cut pieces.
Step 2
Then, cut off the rind of the melon from the edge. Make sure to cut as close to the edge as possible, as we want more melon than waste from it.
Thus, we clean the entire surface of the melon and move on to the next step.
Step 3
Cut the melon in half and remove the seeds. In this case, it is more convenient to use a spoon. This will save you time and damage the melon surface less.
Step 4
Now you need to turn the halves on the cutting board and cut them into cubes, as if you were slicing, for example, a pumpkin.
In the process, you may have an idea to cut additional slices of other fruits, making a fruit platter for serving. Melon has a good combination with peach, pear, strawberry, raspberry and other sweet berries.
Step 5
Transfer the melon slices to the prepared bowl.
When serving, the dish can also be garnished with green mint or lemon balm leaves. And if the melon remains after the feast, you can easily close it and put it in the refrigerator until your next snack.
I wish you health and bon appetit!
