Wine - this noble drink is able to gently turn one's head and exalt a person above the mortal world, giving him inspiration and passion. High-quality wine from a well-known manufacturer is always expensive - but there is still a brand of wine that is by far the most expensive in the world.
What affects the price of wine
First of all, the cost of wine depends on the appellation - the grape berry, which ultimately determines the taste and quality of the drink. In addition, the price is influenced by the degree of prestige of the appellation, the class assigned to the vineyard from which the wine was made, as well as the harvest year. The most expensive wines are traditionally drinks made in the early to mid-20th century.
Some of the most expensive wines are Burgundy and Bordeaux wines, which collectors of unique alcoholic beverages love to collect.
Also, the price of wine, unfortunately, is directly influenced by fashion, which significantly increases their prices, even if the drink itself does not correspond to these prices. Many buyers are willing to shell out a hefty sum for some of the Super Tuscan and American wines made famous by the respected Wine Spectator magazine. People who decide to start collecting rare wines need to remember that, in addition to the money spent on wine, they need to be ready to buy a mono-temperature wine cabinet or cellar in which a valuable drink will be stored.
The most expensive wine in the world
The most expensive wine in the world today is Mouton Rothschild, created in 1945. In the fall, this wine from a renowned French producer was sold at Christies auction for 22,650 euros for one bottle of Bordeaux Grand Cru. This drink was made by the most talented French winemakers in limited quantities and has been perfectly preserved over the years.
The buyer, who wished to remain anonymous, paid the auction 290 thousand dollars for twelve regular bottles and 345 thousand dollars for six bottles with a capacity of 1.5 liters.
Previously, the most expensive wine in the world was the delightful Burgundy Romané Conti, made in 1985. Six 1.5-liter bottles of this exclusive wine drink cost and were sold for $ 170,375 at an auction in New York.
The 1945 Mouton Rothschild labels are adorned with an unusual inscription, which is a short but telling saying “1945 is the year of Victory”. This inscription, representing the collapse of Nazism, was specially commissioned by Baron Philippe de Rothschild in the manufacture of wine bottle labels for the future winner of the auctions. The commission was executed by a young French artist Philippe Julian.
