Hot chocolate is a delicious treat that has millions of fans. But you can treat yourself to such a drink not only in a cafe. It can be easily done at home. To do this, you just need to choose one of the cooking methods: for the first method, use a regular chocolate bar, and for the second, use cocoa powder.
It is necessary
- For the first method (for 1 serving):
- - a bar of chocolate (bitter or milk) - 2 pcs.;
- - milk or cream - 100 ml.
- For the second way:
- - cocoa powder - 0.5 cups;
- - sugar - 0.5 cups;
- - water - 0.25 glasses;
- - milk with a fat content of 3, 2% or cream - 2 glasses;
- - corn starch - 1 tsp. (for optional density).
Instructions
Step 1
To make hot chocolate using the first method, break the chocolate into pieces and place them in a cup (preferably a metal one). To melt the chocolate, you will need to build a water bath. To do this, put water in a ladle or small saucepan and boil. Above the boiling water, place the bowl with the pieces so that it does not touch the water, and, stirring, bring the chocolate to a liquid state.
Step 2
As soon as the chocolate mass becomes liquid, pour hot milk into it in a thin stream and stir. An important point: chocolate in no case should boil - this can give the drink excessive bitterness and an uneven consistency.
Step 3
To prepare a treat using the second method, combine sugar and cocoa powder in a small bowl. Add warm water to the resulting mixture and mix thoroughly so that no sugar grains remain.
Step 4
Meanwhile, heat the milk (or cream) and add to the cocoa and sugar dissolved in water. Stir again and place the ladle on the stove, setting a low temperature. Heat the mass until hot (without boiling), stirring all the time.
Step 5
After that, remove the dishes from the stove and leave the drink to brew a little. Now you can pour hot chocolate into cups and serve. If desired, add a few pinches of cinnamon, a teaspoon of liqueur or other spices for flavor. And for density - a little cornstarch.
