Step 1

Pre-soak pearl barley and mushrooms in warm water in separate bowls, pearl barley - for an hour and a half, mushrooms - for 3-4 hours. Drain the mushrooms, rinse them thoroughly, put in a saucepan and boil.

Step 2

At the end of cooking, remove them from the broth (leave the broth), chop finely and put back. Peel, wash and chop carrots and onions. In butter, save the vegetables until soft, add a glass of water to them and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Next, add vegetables to the mushrooms. Peel the potatoes and chop into cubes, coarsely chop the cabbage. Boil barley for 30 minutes and rinse with running water. Place a saucepan on the stove, place potatoes, white cabbage and boiled pearl barley in it and cook until the potatoes are soft.
