Apples are one of the healthiest fruits around. With regular consumption of these fruits, the level of cholesterol in the blood decreases, the immune system is strengthened, the body is cleansed, etc.
From apples, you can prepare an incredibly tasty and very healthy dish - jam, which can be used as a filling in baked goods or served with tea as an independent dessert.
It is necessary
- - 2 kg of apples;
- - 400 g of granulated sugar;
- - 600 ml of water.
Instructions
Step 1
The first step is to select the raw materials for making jam, that is, apples. Rinse the fruits thoroughly, cut the peel from them, remove the core with the seeds. If the apples have dark spots, cut them out with a sharp knife.
Step 2
Chop the fruits in random order, put them in a saucepan, add a little over 500 ml of water and put on high heat. As soon as this mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat and cook the apple mixture for about 20-25 minutes. After the time has elapsed, remove the pan from the heat, cool to 30-40 degrees and rub the apples through a sieve (you can also use a blender).
Step 3
Pour the resulting puree onto a baking sheet (it is best to use a baking sheet with a wide bottom and rather high sides). Turn on the oven, adjust the temperature to 60-70 degrees and place the baking sheet in it.
Evaporate the mixture to the required thickness (this takes 20 to 40 minutes). During the evaporation of the jam, open the oven door every 7-10 minutes, in this case the process will go faster.
Step 4
10 minutes before the end of cooking, add 400 g of granulated sugar to a baking sheet, mix, level and put the jam back in the oven.
Step 5
Put the finished cooled jam in a vase or roll it up in a jar and put it in a cool place.
