Regular sour cream from the store, no matter how fat it is, is suitable for almost any application, except for the manufacture of confectionery. In order to make sour cream thick, for example, for use as a cream for baking, first you need to thicken it. Not everyone has a thickener on hand, but it can be easily done using common household ingredients.
It is necessary

- - sour cream;
- - starch;
- - a tablespoon;
- - mixer;
- - two containers.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the sour cream in a container convenient for stirring and heating.
Step 2
Heat sour cream in a water bath or microwave until it boils.
Step 3
Take one level tablespoon of starch and add it to a second container.
Step 4
Dilute the starch with cold boiled water. The amount of water should be equal to the amount of sour cream you use. Stir the liquid thoroughly with a spoon to completely dissolve the starch in the water.
Step 5
Stirring constantly warmed sour cream, pour water with starch into it in a thin stream.
Step 6
Mix the resulting mixture thoroughly with a mixer. If it seems to you that the sour cream is not thick enough, repeat all steps from step 2.
Step 7
Refrigerate the resulting mixture before further use.
