Pour sugar directly into a saucepan, add a little lemon juice, place over medium heat and stir. It will not be superfluous to add a little vanillin to the sugar to taste. You can add dye if you like. The traditional color of caramelized apples is red, but you can choose any other color.

Apples must be thoroughly washed and wiped with a dry cloth. To achieve perfect smoothness, you need to make sure that no fat and small particles remain on the fruit.

Continue stirring the sugar until it melts and turns into syrup. After that, you will need to act quickly enough, since the sugar quickly hardens.

Put clean and dry apples on skewers and dip whole in a saucepan. To make the caramel evenly cover the apple, twist it around its axis. Uncovered areas can be poured from above with a spoon.

As soon as you remove the apples from the pan, you can roll them in crushed hazelnuts, sprinkle with colored dragees, or dip them in melted chocolate. Then the apples can be put to cool. The pot must be washed immediately under running hot water.
