One of the options for harvesting plums for the winter is freezing. Regardless of the method of freezing, it is necessary to prepare the berries for this process. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Remove stalks, leaves, sort out green and rotten fruits. Any varieties are suitable. The main thing is that the plums are ripe and strong.
Freezing whole plums
Spread dry, clean plums loosely in small bags in one layer. Close them tightly and put them in the freezer. It is advisable to take out the packages the next day, open them, release excess air, seal them again and put them in the freezer.
Freeze plum pieces
Plums can be frozen in slices or in halves. It all depends on your goals. This freezing option is suitable for further baking cakes and sweet pastries.
Cut the dry, clean plum into the required number of parts and remove the seeds. Next, spread the plum loosely on trays or pallets with a pre-lined film or food paper. We send them to the freezer for 3-4 hours. After the plums have hardened, they should be taken out and distributed in small bags. Close tightly and put back in the freezer.
Freezing plums in sugar
Cut clean and dry plums in half and remove the seeds. Place in a container and sprinkle with sugar in about a 1: 5 ratio. It all depends on how sweet you want the plum. The fruits are either covered with sugar in layers, or simply mixed with it. Next, we distribute the plum among the containers and send it to the freezer.
