First, sort out the plums well, rinse in water, remove the tails. Then lay them out on a towel and pat dry. You can cover them on top with another clean towel or wipe them lightly. Carefully cut the plums in half with a knife and remove the pit. If you do not break the plum, but cut it, the edges are thin and even.

Place the plums on a tray or large platter with the cut at the top. Place the tray in the freezer for a few hours. If your refrigerator has a Quick Freeze compartment, send the tray of plums there. This part of the freezer usually looks like a small pallet.

When the plum is frozen, remove the tray. Now sort the berries into plastic bags, remove excess air from them and put the bags in the freezer. In this form, the plum can be stored until next summer. If you are not planning to make a pie filling with plum, freeze it with the seeds. Let it harden at first, and then put it in a container and send it to constant freezing.

If the plums are very large, cut them in half, remove the pit, and then cut to the size you want. However, the advantage of the halves is that they do not freeze strongly to the tray, so they can be easily separated. In addition, the plum retains its inherent vitamins and minerals, if not crushed.

There are several ways to defrost. Move the bags from the freezer to the refrigerator and the plum will melt after 12 hours. Outdoors, this will happen in 4-5 hours. In an airfryer, oven or microwave, you can defrost plums in minutes. When defrosting a drain in hot water, make sure that no water gets into the fruit bags.
