Fans of exotic spicy food will be delighted to try the chili popcorn. This dish can be prepared without leaving your home. All you need is popcorn and a couple of ingredients. This popcorn is perfect for evenings with friends or family trips to the cinema.
It is necessary
- For 8 servings:
- - 20 cups corn kernels
- - 2 cups peanuts
- - 1 pack of unsalted butter
- - 3 glasses of sugar
- - 1 and 1/2 cups corn syrup
- - 1/2 glass of water
- - 1 vanilla pod or 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- - 1 glass of table salt
- - 1 teaspoon chili powder
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a large mixing bowl in advance. Lightly grease the edges with butter. In it, mix the unopened popcorn and peanuts thoroughly. You can add other types of nuts if you like.
Step 2
Combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and oil in a large saucepan. Don't forget to add vanilla extract as well. Simmer over moderate heat for 18 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the syrup warms up.
Step 3
Add salt and chili powder to the heated mass from step 2.
Step 4
Make popcorn with nuts and corn kernels (from step 1) in the microwave or oven. Use a baking sleeve to keep the beans from flying around. Stop the cooking process when no crackling is heard from the beans.
Step 5
Pour the hot syrup over the popcorn from step 4. Use a wooden spoon or long culinary stick to stir the mixture. Let cool before serving.
