It is necessary

  • Cabbage - 2.5 kg;
  • Vegetable oil (sunflower) - 130 milliliters;
  • Carrots - 3-4 pcs.;
  • Garlic to taste;
  • Cloves and peppercorns - 4-5 pcs.;
  • Bay leaf - 3 pcs.
  • Marinade:
  • Water - 2 liters;
  • Granulated sugar - 1 glass;
  • Table vinegar - 0.7 cups;
  • Salt - 5 tsp

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to prepare vegetables. Cabbage is cleaned of the upper leaves, washed and chopped into small strips, and carrots are chopped using a medium or coarse grater. Garlic should not be passed through a garlic press, otherwise it will not be felt at all in the dish. It is best to cut each clove into about 6 pieces with a sharp knife. The amount of garlic depends on the desired spice of the future snack. The minimum amount is 2-4 cloves for the indicated amount of food.

Step 2

All prepared vegetables are placed in a large convenient bowl, mixed thoroughly and lightly crushed. Last but not least, pepper, cloves and bay leaves are sent to them. It remains to pour the ingredients with vegetable oil and mix again. After that, the vegetables are laid out in jars of the desired volume. It is best to use small cans for such a cabbage snack for the winter, which are eaten at one time.

Step 3

Now you need to prepare the marinade. To do this, water is poured into a saucepan, vinegar, sugar and salt are added to it, after which the liquid is thoroughly mixed and brought to a boil. Pickled cabbage "Provencal" for the winter is almost ready. The boiling marinade is poured over the vegetables into jars, after which the snack is left at room temperature until it cools completely for 7-8 hours. Then you can cover it with a lid and send it to the refrigerator for storage. The hostess will need to spend only about 1 hour on this simple recipe.
