- 2 tablespoons of sugar;
- 8 peppercorns;
- 4 bay leaves;
- 0.5 cups apple cider vinegar.

Step 1
To prepare pickled cabbage, you need strong heads of cabbage without damage and the simplest set of spices. Other additives depend on your taste preference. You can add finely chopped vegetables, apples or sour berries to cabbage, replace table vinegar with wine or apple cider vinegar, include spicy herbs in the recipe. The result is dozens of variations of this simple dish.
Step 2
The easiest way is to prepare delicious Provencal cabbage. Chop a dense head of cabbage into strips, after cutting out the stump. Cut the carrots into thin strips and the garlic into small pieces. Place the vegetables in a saucepan and prepare the marinade. Boil the water, adding salt, sugar, bay leaves, cloves and allspice peas. Remove the liquid from the heat, pour vegetable oil and vinegar into it. Pour the marinade over the cabbage. After four hours, you can try it. However, cabbage becomes especially tasty one day after cooking.
Step 3
Spicy oriental cabbage is prepared very quickly. Cut a dense head of cabbage into cubes, scald with boiling water and squeeze well. Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan without boiling it, throw red pepper, cabbage into the oil, add sugar and lemon juice. Salt. Stir the mixture thoroughly and let it sit for about four hours.
Step 4
The festive table will be decorated with an original red kaputa. Cut a strong head of cabbage into large pieces. Place thin slices of garlic between the leaves. Place the cabbage chunks in a saucepan, shifting the slices of raw chopped beets.
Step 5
Prepare a brine from hot water, salt, sugar, allspice, bay leaf. Boil the mixture, remove from heat, and pour apple cider vinegar into it. Pour the hot marinade over the cabbage and close the pan with a lid. After three days, the cabbage will acquire a beautiful red color, rich taste and will be ready to serve.
