Fresh greens are included in the diet of almost every person. Not everyone has the ability to pick spicy grass from the garden and immediately put it in a salad. We have to think about preserving it. The new models of refrigerators have a "zero" chamber, which is perfect for storing greens, but if you do not have such a compartment in your refrigerator, use other methods.
It is necessary
- - a special plastic container;
- - plastic bag;
- - paper towel;
- - glass jar.
Instructions
Step 1
Buy plastic vacuum containers from well-known companies that have developed their entire product lines, specially designed for storing delicate plants in the refrigerator. The containers are sold in different shapes, sizes and colors. Before putting in the container, herbs and salad must be sorted out, rinsed and dried. Special containers are an expensive pleasure, but if a lot of greens accumulates in your refrigerator, then it is better to get them than throw away the spoiled product.
Step 2
Save your herbs with a glass jar. Free the purchased bundles from threads and elastic bands, cut the roots off the garden grass, discard the rotten parts. Pour cold water into a wide, deep bowl. Place the plants in a container and rinse well.
Step 3
Place a paper towel on the table. Blot wet greens and leave to dry for about fifteen minutes. Then fold into a perfectly dry glass jar and close with a clean plastic lid. Refrigerate. Without air flow, spicy herbs - dill, parsley, celery, lovage - can be stored for two to three weeks. Delicate plants - marjoram, cilantro, lettuce - are stored much less, so check the bookmark constantly.
Step 4
Save your herbs in a plastic bag. Go through the plants, remove rotten leaves and stems, do not wash. Fold in a tight bag. Tie it up so that a balloon with herbs inside is inflated. Place the ball in the refrigerator. In this way, the spicy bunches and lettuce will last for more than a week.
Step 5
Pack the herbs in damp paper. For this method, kraft paper or a thick paper towel is well suited, as long as the paper does not creep out from moisture. Wrap the pure spicy herb completely in a towel. Spray on paper with water from a flower spray bottle or soak under the tap. Place the bundle in a plastic bag and refrigerate. Don't use newsprint - ink is harmful to your body.
