    • For the filling: 2 kg of potatoes
    • 2 medium onions
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 100 butter
    • 2 tbsp. tablespoons of ground crackers.

Instructions

Step 1

Begin to cook potato pie by kneading the dough. To do this, pour a glass of milk and water into a deep large saucepan, slightly heat the mixture until warm.

Step 2

Pour in one bag of dry yeast, a teaspoon of salt, two tablespoons of granulated sugar, 2 eggs and a tablespoon of vegetable oil.

The mass is thoroughly mixed. Melt 100 g of margarine to a warm liquid state and pour into the dough.

Next, 1.5 kg of sifted wheat flour is slowly poured, as it is added, the dough for the cake is kneaded to form a homogeneous mass that does not stick to hands.

The surface of the dough is greased with vegetable oil, cover the pan with a towel and put in a warm place. After the dough rises for the first time, knead it and wait for it to come up again.

During this time, the filling for the pie is being prepared. Wash potatoes (2kg), peel, cut into thin slices. Chop the onion into half rings. Mix everything, salt and pepper.

A half-centimeter thick layer of dough is rolled out on a board and placed on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil. The filling is evenly distributed on top, and small pieces of butter are spread over it.

A thin second layer is rolled out and applied to the filling. The edges are pinched, the surface of the cake is greased with vegetable oil, and then given time to rise.

Step 9

Sprinkle with ground breadcrumbs on top and bake in the oven. After about 40 minutes, the potato pie is ready. They take it out, put it on a board and cover it with a towel on top for 10 minutes. Then it is cut and served on the table.
