    • 3 medium onions;
    • 1 glass of milk;
    • 3 tablespoons of butter;

    • For mushroom sauce:
    • 50 g dry mushrooms;
    • a tablespoon of flour;
    • onion head;
    • a tablespoon of butter;
    • vegetable oil;
    • salt.

Instructions

Step 1

Peel, wash and boil the potatoes. Drain the water, and keep the pot with potatoes for some time over low heat or in the oven so that the rest of the water evaporates.

Peel the onions, chop finely and fry in vegetable oil.

Rub the potatoes hot through a sieve or mash with a wooden pestle. Add butter, eggs and salt.

Boil the milk and gradually add it to the mashed potatoes. Stir everything well and beat lightly with a spoon.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and put a dish with a potato pie in it to bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes.

Mushroom sauce can be served with potato pie. To prepare it, rinse dry mushrooms thoroughly in warm boiled water and soak in three glasses of cold water for two to three hours.

Boil the mushrooms in the same water in which they were soaked. Do not salt. When the mushrooms are ready, strain the broth through a sieve or folded cheesecloth. Chop the boiled mushrooms finely.

Melt the butter in a skillet and fry the flour in it until light brown. Dilute with two cups of hot strained mushroom broth.

Simmer the sauce on a low boil for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Peel the onions, chop finely and fry in vegetable oil. Add chopped boiled mushrooms to it and lightly fry them along with the onions.

Transfer the mushrooms and onions to the sauce, salt and simmer for a few minutes.
