You've probably come across a word like antioxidant. But what does it mean? Are antioxidants good or bad for our body? Antioxidant literally means "against oxidants". Oxidants (or "free radicals") are harmful substances in the body that can appear after the normal processes of the body, as well as get to us from the environment in the form of chemical waste, polluted air and cigarette smoke.
