Mineral water "Perrier" is not just a drink, but a symbol of good taste and elegance, an attribute of a successful person who cares about his health. This water not only has healing properties, but also has its own history.
Drinking water "Perrirer": the history of the brand
The natural source from which the "Perrier" is extracted was discovered in the village of Vergues in the south of France. This healing spring appeared in prehistoric times thanks to a mixture of rainwater and volcanic gas, which broke through the mountain layers and got out in the form of a seething geyser. The amazing source began to be called by the locals Les Bouillens, which means "boiling water".
In 1863, Emperor Napoleon III issued a decree, which secured the official title of the healing spring to this place. And in 1898, the source of Les Bouillens was bought by Dr. Louis Perrier. He conducted the first medical study of water, which affected its popularity among the general public. But Perrier still failed to establish a business for the production and sale of this unique drink, and soon he sold the source to the English Lord John Harmsworth, who turned out to be a much more successful businessman.
He founded his new brand, naming it after its former owner, and invented the very unusual shape of the bottle, reminiscent of a drop of water, which is still Perrier's trademark. Thanks to the efforts of Harmsworth, this mineral water became known not only in European countries, but also in the British colonies.
In 1908, at the international exhibition in London, water under the Perrier brand was awarded the Grand Prix, which for the first time marked its worldwide recognition. But after World War II, sales plummeted and Hamsworth's company suffered losses. In 1947, she was rescued from ruin by a stockbroker Gustave Leuven, who was able to modernize production and even begin supplying water to the United States, thanks to which the company's business went well again and sales increased.
In 1992, the Perrier trademark was taken over by the world famous Nestle company, which continued its successful development. Now this water is drunk in 150 countries of the world. The Perrier brand is also very famous among tennis fans. After all, the water produced under this name is the official drink of the Roland Garros tournament.
Why is Perrier water useful?
Mineral water "Perier" is positioned in the beverage market as a healthy substitute for sweet soda and cocktails. It owes its special taste to the exceptional strength of the volcanic gas bubbles, as well as the very low sodium content. In addition, "Perrier" possesses the natural purity of real spring water, perfectly refreshes and has a unique composition of mineral salts that have a beneficial effect on digestion.
