For the winter, I want to prepare as many delicious salads, jams and other other dishes as possible. I suggest you also make caviar from green tomatoes. It is great to serve with potatoes or all kinds of meat dishes.
It is necessary
- - green tomatoes - 3 kg;
- - onions - 1 kg;
- - carrots - 1.5 kg;
- - beets - 1.5 kg;
- - vegetable oil - 0.5 l;
- - sugar - 2 tablespoons;
- - salt - 3.5 tablespoons;
- - ground black pepper - 1 tablespoon;
- - vinegar essence - 2 tablespoons.
Instructions
Step 1
For vegetables such as onions, beets and carrots, do the following: Rinse them under cold running water, then place them in a blender bowl. Grind this vegetable mixture until smooth, that is, until puree. Put the resulting mass in a pre-prepared saucepan with a sufficiently deep bottom.
Step 2
Add ingredients such as black pepper, granulated sugar, sunflower oil and salt to the puree vegetable mass. Mix everything together properly. After bringing the mixture to a boil, cook, remembering to stir, for an hour and a half over a fairly low heat.
Step 3
When the cooking time of the vegetable mixture is over, add the vinegar essence to it. Mix everything properly, then cook the resulting mass for another 5 minutes.
Step 4
After 5 minutes have passed, remove the green tomato caviar from the heat and distribute it over the sterilized jars prepared in advance.
Step 5
Put jars of green tomato caviar in a bowl of water. In such a kind of water bath, boil the vegetable mass for one quarter of an hour. After 15 minutes, roll the caviar under the lids.
Step 6
Put the dishes with the vegetable mass upside down, cover them warmly, for example, with a blanket, and do not touch them until they cool completely. Green tomato caviar is ready! Store this dish in a cool enough place, that is, in the cellar.
