Cheese is considered one of the healthiest and most delicious products, it has been known and loved since ancient times. The rise in prices for natural dairy products and modern technologies have led to the fact that more and more often the so-called cheese product began to appear on the shelves. Unfortunately, the low price tag comes with a loss of many nutrients.

Instructions

Step 1

Cheese is a milk-containing product if at least 50% of the milk fat in it is replaced by vegetable fat. Some manufacturers go even further and replace absolutely all milk fat, in this case the cost is the lowest. The most commonly used vegetable oils are palm and coconut oils.

Step 2

The milk content in it should not be less than the established indicator - 20% by dry matter. Non-dairy protein and non-dairy fat, before entering the product, undergo many stages of processing: transesterification, hydrogenation, deodorization, fractionation. As a result, there is no trace of old nutrients, moreover, such fat is quite harmful, it becomes chemically active, can react with cells, destroy tissues, and affect the immune, nervous, and cardiovascular systems.

Step 3

Compared to natural cheese, a cheese product significantly loses its nutritional and biological value. It contains less protein, calcium, lecithin, vitamins, while the content of harmful omega-6 fatty acids is increased. Considering that there are so many fatty foods in the diet of the average Russian, for example, margarines, sweets, cookies, mayonnaise, excessive consumption can lead to an increase in inflammatory reactions in the body. Among other things, coconut and palm oils can be genetically modified, and their frequent use is not very useful.

Step 4

At the same time, real cheese with milk fat is an important source of protein, which is absorbed by the body almost completely. It has the perfect combination of calcium and phosphorus, which strengthens teeth and bones, and maintains the health of the cardiovascular system.

Step 5

There is no shortage of milk in Russia, therefore, cheese products with vegetable fats are rarely found. About 300 types of cheese are produced in Belarus, and about 1% of the total volume can be safely called a cheese product. Basically, these are economy class goods designed for a buyer who is not interested in the composition.

Step 6

Basically, the cheese product and the goods that include it are supplied to Russian counters from neighboring countries. In 2012, cheeses from Ukraine were banned from import due to the massive use of prohibited fats in their preparation. In Europe, there has long been a tendency to switch to natural and healthy products, and they continue to send low-value products in bright packaging to the markets of developing countries.
