Many people consider pearl barley too simple and insufficiently refined food, which is suitable only for pickle. But if you cook this cereal as described in this recipe, then it will turn out to be so juicy and surprisingly tasty that it can win the heart of any gourmet.
It is necessary
- - 1 glass of pearl barley;
- - 3 carrots;
- - 1 onion;
- - 215 g dried mushrooms;
- - 1 teaspoon of salt;
- - sunflower oil;
- - ground black pepper.
Instructions
Step 1
First, it is necessary to prepare pearl barley by filling it with water and leaving it to swell for 12 hours.
Step 2
Dried mushrooms should also be soaked in advance, then boiled for half an hour and cooled. After that, they must be finely chopped.
Step 3
Carrots must be grated or simply cut into strips. Finely chop the onions.
Step 4
Fry prepared vegetables and mushrooms in sunflower oil for 15 minutes.
Step 5
In a deep bowl, mix pearl barley, salt, vegetables, mushrooms, black pepper. Transfer the resulting mixture to clay pots, filling them no more than 2/3 full.
Step 6
Add water to each pot so that it covers the pearl barley by about 2 centimeters. Cover the pots with lids and put them in the oven for 2 hours at a temperature of about 190 degrees.
