To cook legs stuffed with mushrooms, you need the following products: 5-6 chicken legs, 250 g of mushrooms, 1-2 onions, 70-80 g of hard cheese, 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream, vegetable oil, salt, spices, fresh herbs dill.

Chicken legs are washed and dried with paper towels. Then, using a small knife, gently separate the skin, pulling it to the tip of the bone. After cutting the tendon, the skin is completely removed from the leg. The meat is cut from the bones. Do not throw away the bones, they can be useful in the future for making soup with chicken broth.

Recipe for chicken legs stuffed with mushrooms

Chicken meat is passed through a meat grinder. You should not use a blender, as in this case the minced meat will turn out to be quite dense. Minced meat is transferred to a deep plate and salt and favorite spices are added to it to taste.

Sorted and washed mushrooms are cut into thin small slices and fried in vegetable oil. It is best to use wild mushrooms, which give the dish a particularly interesting flavor. If it is not possible to buy wild mushrooms, you can use champignons, which are constantly on sale.

Onions are peeled, finely chopped and also fried in vegetable oil. The cheese is grated on a coarse grater. Fried mushrooms, onions and finely chopped dill are added to the minced meat.

The skins of the legs are filled with prepared minced meat. You should not stuff the skin with minced meat until it stops, as during heat treatment the skin is greatly reduced in size. The edges are fastened with wooden toothpicks. A baking dish is greased with vegetable oil and stuffed chicken legs are placed in it. Top each leg is coated with sour cream.

The oven is heated to 180-200 ° C and the mold with the legs is placed on the middle level. Cooking the chicken legs stuffed with mushrooms will take about 40-50 minutes. The finished dish has a pleasant appearance, thanks to the golden brown crust.

Stuffed chicken legs can be used as a main course. In this case, they are served hot with a side dish of boiled potatoes or stewed vegetables. However, you can use chicken legs stuffed with cheese and mushrooms as a cold appetizer. To do this, the cooled legs are cut into thin enough slices and laid out on a flat plate, decorating with herbs, olives and lemon circles.
