Since childhood, we have been hammered into our heads "fruit is useful", but is it really so? Take, for example, tangerine - the most popular fruit delicacy, a long-awaited guest on New Year's tables. What are the benefits and harms of tangerines?

This fruit is delivered to Russia by deliveries from sunny Georgia, Vietnam, Argentina. In almost every case, they are plucked from the branch while still green, and they ripen during their journey to another country.

Remember a few rules for choosing a tangerine:

  1. A good fruit has a uniform bright orange color, you can see the pores on its surface;
  2. Do not give preference to tangerines that are too small or, conversely, too large. You may end up with a watery fruit that tastes bitter;
  3. Too soft spots should not be felt on the surface of the mandarin - this is a sign that the fruit is starting to rot.

This sunny fruit has a number of vitamins that the body needs especially badly during cold periods of time:

  • Vitamin C strengthens the cells of our body, it is not so easy for viruses to get inside;
  • Vitamin K is responsible for the proper functioning of the liver;
  • Vitamin D is produced by the body during exposure to the sun, it is responsible for the assimilation of a number of nutrients, and also prevents the development of cancerous tumors;

But citric acid, for which tangerines are also famous, will slow down aging and protect against free radicals.

As you already understood, tangerine has many useful properties that are so necessary for a person who lives in our conditions and climate. It is worth noting that in contrast to these beneficial properties, the use of this fruit can negatively affect your health.

Citric acid and vitamin C have done their job - the fruit is sour, and the gastric mucosa reacts to increased acidity. It is not recommended to eat tangerines in large quantities, otherwise the body may make a "riot". If you suffer from stomach ulcers, then it makes sense to replace this fruit with something else.

Eating tangerine, and indeed many fruits in general, raises blood sugar levels. Do not overeat with them at once, otherwise allergy reactions, diathesis and skin rashes may occur.

Small children should be careful when giving these fruits, they can cause allergies. Also, pregnant and lactating women should not lean on tangerines.

I would like to debunk another myth. Many people believe that mandarin peel is extremely healthy and can be used to make many drinks and dishes. It is worth noting that this fruit was mercilessly sprayed with chemicals - it ripens faster, and the presentation will last longer. All these nitrates "settle" primarily in the peel. So think hard before using the peel.
